First impressions count for a lot, more so when you’re on a dating app. You don’t need us to tell you that you need to approach your online dating profile and bio like you might approach a profile picture. But, as it turns out, no matter how much you edit the sh*t out of your bio or your profile, it’s your career that ups the ante. Because research shows certain jobs can actually make people approximately 10,000 times hotter (figuratively speaking of course). If the data scientists at the dating app Happn are to be believed, there are indeed select careers that make men more attractive to women. After studying almost three million users worldwide, to figure out which professions were the most successful on the dating app, both male and female singles on Happn, these were the results.
There was a reason why your mum and dad wanted you to be a doctor. Now if only you had heeded their advice and actually ended up being one. You would have been in the fifth most attractive group of men.
You don’t necessarily need a degree to be a great sales executive. And you’d still be more attractive to women than your doctor friends, according to women of Happn.
Joke as much as you want about how lame engineering colleges are (and how sex-deprived the elite IITs are), if this research is to be believed, engineering is the third most attractive career for men, according to women.
2. Business analyst
Most of us may never really know what it is that business analysts do but clearly, the women of Happn seem to be turned on by them.
Did we see you smirk there? Lawyers, according to the research, are the most attractive professionals according to the women of Happn. We imagine, it can be quite a turn on to see Harvey Specter argue his way to victory every week. But we suspect it has as much to do with the suits.
If you’re still struggling to go from Mr Right to Mr Right Now on Happn or your online dating prospects have been less than stellar, it’s probably a good time to go back to school, preferably a law school. Or just follow these rules of suiting up to pull a Harvery Specter to snare your perfect date.
